Hi everyone,
I’m incredibly excited to be a new member of the Babbasa team. I’ve been a fan and follower for the last couple of years, so jumped at the opportunity to work more closely when the opportunity arose. I went to University in Bristol and the city will always hold a special place in my heart. I come from a humble, loving home and was the first in my family to attend University.
I’m grateful every day for the sacrifices that my parents made for me. I’m motivated by enabling and unlocking potential and growth both for individuals and at a broader macro level. My guiding phrase is ‘there’s always a way’, indeed there’s often many more than just one way.
In my professional life, my purpose has led me to partnering with organisations to lead and build high performance, inclusive and people focused cultures and teams’. Over the last 20 plus years (crikey I am old), I’ve had the pleasure of building, delivering and learning from multiple sectors, size and maturity of organisations and across a variety of HR generalist and specialist roles.
I recently heard the phrase ‘a beautiful business’ which describes how a business is guided by doing the right thing, over the long-term for their customers, teams, environment and profitably, which really stuck with me. ‘The Heart of Business’ by Hubert Joly is a great read on this topic.
What gives me joy is spending time with my family (husband and 2 daughters 12 and 8), friends and rescue dog Rocky, dancing and going on adventures (my husband is from Colombia and we met while I was travelling and working there). I volunteer as a Youth mentor with a Somerset charity and have learned so much from my mentee. I’m working on carving out regular time for myself and my own growth, reading more and scrolling less and listening to my intuition.
