We are delighted to introduce The Bristol Cable who have supported us through our City Of Change campaign.

Why did you decide to join the City Of Change campaign?

The Cable started from a front room in 2014. But we had a lot of support from established organisations and professionals. Giving something back in this way is a great opportunity to help further our mission of building local media that serves all our communities.

What do you think young people may contribute to your organisation?

We value diverse perspectives, stories and audiences. Through the eyes and experience of a young person we can hope to better understand the next generation and how to engage them in the social issues they care about and that the Cable focuses on.

What do you think companies may be missing by having a lack of younger voices/influence in the organisation?

We hope that a younger person would contribute a fresh perspective on issues, challenge the received wisdoms of other team members and work to reach younger audiences where they are.

What advice do you wish someone had given you at the start of your career?

One of the best pieces of advice I received was that being organised is a key to effective creativity. Because without effective organisation, even the best creative or visionary ideas cannot be fulfilled to their fullest potential!
