We are delighted to introduce Channel 4 who have supported us through our City Of Change campaign.

Why did you decide to join the City Of Change campaign?

Babbasa is such an incredible and important organisation and at the forefront of engaging young people from different backgrounds in the city. We thought it was a great way to tangibly continue our outreach work in Bristol.

What do you think young people may contribute to your organisation?

Young people contribute so much! They are resourceful, wise in their own ways, and often have a keen awareness of our world and the community around them. They are also  enthusiastic and driven. They bring a unique perspective to any organisation and have a view on how to do things in new and interesting ways.

What do you think companies may be missing by having a lack of younger voices/influence in the organisation?

They may be missing opportunities to innovate and knowledge of the lived experience of young people if they don’t have young people in their organisation. Young people are also often connected to new tech and new ways of doing business. Organisations miss out on that closeness to young audiences and what they want when they don’t engage with young people.

What advice do you wish someone had given you at the start of your career?

Don’t be afraid! You are unique and you have purpose and worth. You should  challenge and ask questions as it not only helps you grow and understand, but will help those in more senior positions rethink things as well. I’d also say to seek out feedback and to ask for help when you need it, I often did not ask for what I needed or advocate for myself and don’t want other young people to miss out!
