We are delighted to introduce Jessica Gitsham, who has supported our City Of Change campaign through Natracare.
Why did you join the City Of Change campaign?
It’s eye opening hearing about Babbasa’s work and it makes us realise how a small effort from our part in creating a placement could be a life changing moment for a young person. Surely that’s reason enough to join?
What do you think young people may contribute to your company?
A fresh perspective, new ideas and probably some welcome insights into the upcoming social and digital trends.
What do you hope younger people may contribute to your company?
What do you think companies may be missing by having a lack of younger voices/influence in the company?
I think this quote from Sundar Pichai sums it up well “a diverse mix of voices leads to better discussions decisions and outcomes for everyone”. For us as a consumer brand, it’s even more important that we listen to young people to understand how they want to interact with our brand, what they like about us and what needs improving.
What advice do you wish someone had given you at the start of your career?
Oh so many things! Believe in yourself and in your opinions. raise your voice in meetings because people want to hear what you have to say. Challenge something if you don’t think it is right, but make sure you’re helping to find solutions. If you want to change the status quo, you will need to learn how to get everyone on board, and often it takes careful planning and reflection.
