6 Months- Two Days a Week – Paid
Do you enjoy working with children and teaching them new skills? Are you an active person who enjoys a challenge?
Lavrak Circus is a Bristol-based, female led alternative circus company whose goal is to inspire everyone to get involved in the world of circus! And they’re looking for someone to join them on a community outreach project with the children at St Paul’s Adventure Playground!
They’ll be teaching aerial sessions to children for 3 hrs every Friday for the last 15 weeks of the placement (September – December). In this role you’ll be trained to teach the children aerial lessons while ensuring all COVID measures are in place. You’ll leave having taught children in a supported environment, alongside other teachers.
At the end of the 15 weeks, the children will be performing what they’ve learned. And you’ll be supported to bring the show to life! You’ll be given the creative control to decide the format of the show, and speak to the children about costumes, music etc.
You don’t need any direct teaching experience to apply but it would be great to mention any experience you have with siblings, other children, or anything similar.
If you have organised any event; informal or otherwise, this is useful to know about in your application. If you haven’t, that is okay too! You’ll be taken through the steps of planning, speaking to children’s parents/carers, liaising with a venue etc.
Lavrak are looking someone who:
- A creative person with lots of ideas to share.
- Can bring great ideas to a session to excite the children.
- Is up for a new challenge.
