Apprenticeship and Bootcamp -12 months

LTSB’s vision is “a world where all young people flourish, regardless of your background.” They’ve partnered with NatWest Group because their looking for young people who are passionate about digital technology, data, and customer service to join a range of apprenticeship opportunities in permanent roles with the bank in 2021. An apprenticeship as part of a full time role with NatWest Group is a fantastic alternative to full time education, and a unique opportunity to become part of a diverse, challenging and exciting organisation.
For the Software Developer roles (Level 4 in England and Level 8 in Scotland) they’re looking for young people who may have experience of coding / programming this would be ideal for the software developer roles. There is no minimum academic criteria for entry, however Level 3 qualifications (A level / BTEC) in England or Highers in Scotland would be an advantage.
Programmes are virtual so young people will need access to a computer/laptop/webcam & Wifi. Help can be provided for young people who may need help with access to technology.
- Free three-week bootcamp delivered online in the summer
- Interaction with NatWest Group staff during the bootcamp to give you an insight into the role and the culture of the bank
- Guaranteed interview for the specific role and apprenticeship (for all candidates who complete the bootcamp)
- A personal mentor through the mentor exchange programme
- Inductions run by Natwest
To be eligible you must be:
- Age Range: 16-24 years old
- Educated at a state school
- You may have been entitled to Free School Meals or Pupil Premium at some point in your education (English schools)
To apply, head to the LTSB website to complete the application form. This will ask you certain questions about which location you’re applying for, your skills and your background to check your eligibility. You can expect to receive a follow-up phone call from one of the LTSB Team. This will be to find out a little more about you and why you want to get into your chosen apprenticeship.
Eligible candidates will then be invited to a selection day which will take place online
- Bootcamp – Mon to Fri for 3 weeks between 10:00am – 4:00pm
- Apprenticeship – full time Mon to Fri standard working hours
Apprenticeship Work Ready Bootcamp start on 28th June and 26th July. Apprenticeships commence in October/November
Apprenticeship opportunities are designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful in the role. There needs to be the potential for the significant development of capabilities and competence during the programme for you to be eligible. You won’t be able to join the programme if you have the same or equivalent qualification, or work experience at a similar level in a similar field. This may include a related apprenticeship, a university degree or a role in which you may have developed similar skills.
