Beacon Music Centre is the award-winning music education hub for the city of Bristol.

Now in its Ninth academic year Bristol Beacon is home to the award-winning music education hub for the city of Bristol.  As part of Creative Learning and Engagement (CLE) our Music Hub ensures that all children, whether in schools or community settings, can access and take part in high-quality musical activities.

The Admissions Administrator is responsible for ensuring that admissions processes, across all programmes and activities, are administered efficiently and in a timely manner.  The Admissions Administrator will play a key part in communicating with parents, schools, tutors, and colleagues in the planning, preparation and implementation of pupil enrolment and admissions-related duties for education and cultural activities.

You will have strong administration skills, preferably some experience of administration within an education setting, but this is not essential, good planning and organisational skills, and an interest in contributing to our aim of inspiring generations of young people.

  • Lead on admissions, coordinating and managing bookings and enquiries for Creative Learning and Engagement programmes, primarily music centres (music lessons) and other associated educational activities, working alongside the Music Education Coordinators and other CLE team members.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with parents, schools, and young people, alongside the promotion of opportunities, events, and activities.
  • Work with the Education Programme Manager and Assistant Education Programme Manager, providing administrative support for school music lesson timetabling using SpeedAdmin, our data management system.
  • Work with the People Team to provide accurate and timely information for the production of Freelance Music Practitioner contracts and DBS checks and coordinate the administration process for new practitioners providing work for Bristol Beacon.


  • Either an interest in / or experience in inspiring and working with young people and in the Arts or Charities sector. 
  • Some experience of basic office skills including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and an interest in IT skills.
  • Good organisational and planning skills .
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team.
