We’re pleased to introduce Babbasa’s 2024 Impact Reportwhich you can read here.

2024 was a year of transition for Babbasa – a year that brought significant organisational changes. Despite the challenges, our commitment to supporting marginalised young people in Bristol never wavered, and we are proud to have supported 370 young people towards realising their professional ambitions through skills sessions, mentors, work experience and access to paid career-oriented employment opportunities.

Through partnerships with businesses and community organisations, we continued to empower young people, connecting them with opportunities from industries such as the Creative, Tech, Built Environment and Professional Services, to help them progress toward their career ambitions. These efforts moved us closer to our long-term OurCity2030 vision – supporting 2,030 young people into meaningful careers by 2030.

Alongside these business partners, our achievements wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our Equal Opportunity Ambassadors.

Whilst we celebrate our achievements, we must also acknowledge the increasingly complex landscape that we operate in. We are living in a time when securing grant funding has become more competitive than ever, and shifts in global politics have led some employers to scale back their EDI and social mobility commitments.

Meanwhile, inequality continues to widen, and youth unemployment – particularly for those aged 16-24 – has reached its highest level since records began in 1992. Figures released last month by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), revealed that almost 1 million young people are not earning or learning – the highest levels in a decade

At Babbasa, we refuse to let these challenges define us. Instead, we’ve marked 2025 as a year of action, focus, and renewed purpose

Our vision to empower young people to realise their professional ambition is still clear. And we believe that we cannot afford to stand still,  when far too many young people are being left behind.

As a social mobility organisation, we have a duty to ensure that every young person that engages with us has the opportunity to thrive. And we are more determined than ever to work alongside our partners to make this a reality, and bring this vision to life

With that in mind, we’re glad to confirm that we will be launching our 2025 Babbasa Youth Empowerment Appeal in April. This appeal aims to help bolster our youth empowerment services, and equip young people with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.

Please help us amplify this appeal by spreading the word amongst your networks, and encourage your friends, family and colleagues to also become donors or supporters.

Thank you for your continued support.
