My name is Tanaka and I’m 26. Some of my interests include fashion, film, music and football.
I first heard of Babbasa through a friend, I was seeking out a mentor at the time as I felt that I was lacking in the necessary mentorship to help me find great opportunities for entrepreneurship. My experience working with Babbasa has been life changing, the organisation allowed me to gain first hand experience of working in a company who values your contribution regardless of background, age and work experience.
Babbasa provided me with mentor who supported in shaping my thinking around entrepreneurship. It was a tremendous experience learning from a business owner. In a nutshell the key skills I gained are; public speaking, business planning, marketing and event planning. All essential skills which I needed to start my business. I recently started my own clothing brand called The Onez. It’s a modern streetwear brand that prides itself on quality. My vision is to connect and uplift upcoming creatives.
My main focus is to continue to learn and grow on this road of entrepreneurship. With the goal this year to fully establish my brand and provide opportunities for other young people. I am also very much excited in working with the other Trailblazers to bring positive lasting change in Bristol.
My advice to young people is try out different things and don’t be afraid to fail. The more skills you develop while your young the better options you have later in life.
